“Freedom” and “Broken” of kikontheroad showed within the Meta House Exhibition, Phnom Penh, Cambodia – I AM WHAT I AM: THE CAMBODIAN PRIDE WEEK FESTIVAL OPENING
On the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT) Meta House opens its week-long CAMBODIA PRIDE FESTIVAL with an exhibit, performances and a film festival. From 5.30PM free condoms will be distributed, in coop. with NGO “Impulse”. The PRIDE exhibition opens at 6PM. From 7PM onwards a role-play against stigmatiza-tion will be performed by local activists. The Cambodian music group “Fire Fox” and other singers will voice their support. 8PM: FILM FESTIVAL OPEN-ING on the rooftop, feat. LGBTi short films from Cambodia and abroad, award-winning music videos and the heart-warming Indonesian docu MOM-MY FROM JAMBI (2015, 38 min).

Fresh Figs #11 ~ Enrico Gaveglia
What up, folks? What, the heck, is up. The Figs have been ripening nicely over the past few weeks and here are two ready for squeezing, plucking, placing inside a bowl and devouring using our big human mouths / eyes

BASICALLY, here is a wandering artist / troubadour of sorts named Enrico (aka kikontheroad) for you to enjoy
The painting above is ‘House of Cards’ and the one below is ‘Mr Smith’
Enrico’s work seems to me a highly-coloured blend of abstract and figurative; makes me think of almost-Cubist Picasso, but somehow seems contemporary too

aaduna fall-winter Issue 2014, Volume 4/Issue 3 – Now available
online Exhibition – kikontheroad at aaduna

This exhibition of images celebrates and illuminates “kikontheroad,” which is an artistic space that aims primarily to offload memories of places where I had the luck to live in during my journeys through countries I had {and continue to have} the opportunity to walk through. These images are testament, in many ways, to how an emotive system deals with an overcharge of emotions where these feelings tend to surface, at its own pace, in digital art expressions. Sharing at times images of these experiences is, one could say, a short cut to the narrative of storytelling. And I strive to continue telling stories through my work.

Chromosome of Conflict

These photos are impressions from walking through countries plagued by years of civil wars and conflict. They’ve rarely been able to return to a normal, peaceful life. The drama of war remains for generations in the DNA of the people; it doesn’t matter if you experience the tragedy firsthand. Even new borns, in relatively quiet moments of peace, have the tag of the sorrow in their genetics, and it takes time to get rid of it. Places, buildings, art expression on streets–all speak as tokens of lives who perished too soon and can talk no more.
